Bought this board and used on a 10-day vacation. Users included everyone from first time kneeboarder, aged 11, to experienced adults. The board saw fairly heavy use each day. Basic observations:
- foam padding is comfortable and held up well - seems durable
- knee strap also stayed in good condition and durable. A couple riders complained that it didn't stay in place very well.
- adhesive decals on the board did not hold up well. Decals (graphics) are peeling at the edges and have worn off along some of the edges. This is disappointing as the board was nice looking!
- the rope hook is a must have item. Our previous board lacked one. The rope hook made it very easy for riders to get started, especially for beginners. The feature is also nice as you can hook the rope and ride comfortably to rest tired arms/hands. The hook on this board is not retractable; however, we never had anyone have an issue getting hit or scratched by the hook.
- board rode well and experienced users had no problems with basic tricks - 360 turns, boarding backwards, cutting wake.
- the retractable fins did not add much value. We tended not to use them and did not notice signficant improvement in cutting when using them. Probably would not buy a board with this feature. The board does pick up some water because of the internal design to accommodate the fins. However, seems to drain and dry out okay.
All in all a fairly sound board.
